Münster. Preeti V. Shah, US Consul General in Düsseldorf, visited the headquarters of Hengst Filtration in Münster on Thursday. The discussion with company owner Jens Röttgering focused on key future topics such as competitiveness, innovation, sustainability and transatlantic relations.
Consul General Shah was very enthusiastic about innovative products and their importance for society. We are both interested in strengthening transatlantic relations and bilateral trade.

The United States is one of Hengst's most important markets. The German filtration specialist also employs more than 250 people at three locations in North Carolina and South Carolina, making it a major employer in the region. In Camden, South Carolina, the focus is primarily on automotive products, in Lincolnton, North Carolina, on hydraulic applications. Consul General Shah's visit underlines the importance of this transatlantic economic relationship and the shared ambition to further strengthen it.
Preeti V. Shah has been US Consul General in Düsseldorf since August 2024. Her official district covers the entire federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia. As a diplomat and economist, she is actively committed to expanding German-American economic and innovation partnerships.
