Our specially developed filtration solutions, for fuel and oil filtration, for example, are designed with durable materials materials and are therefore suitable for all common synthetic and biofuels. The use of hydrogen in combustion engines and fuel cells is a special case. Here too, Hengst offers innovative products such as ion exchangers and cathode air filters for fuel cells and filters as well as disk separators for hydrogen engines, providing solutions for long service life, efficiency, performance and drive safety.

Fuels and drives in transition

As part of a series of studies, we have evaluated the influence that the use of alternative fuels has on the fuel and oil filter systems of combustion engines. The results show that the systems developed and materials used by Hengst are basically suitable for use with alternative fuels. However, the properties of the various fuels differ considerably, so that an individually suitable filter solution must be found for each application. Hengst has therefore developed a modular system for fuel and oil filtration, with which products can be put together quickly and easily for the various requirements. Further modular solutions from Hengst for ion exchangers, cathode air filters and disk separators create the basis for the efficient, environmentally friendly and safe use of hydrogen in combustion engines and fuel cells. The overall package of future-oriented technologies thus paves the way for climate-neutral drives for various applications and regions worldwide, in line with our corporate vision of “purifying our planet”.
